Fuel oil tanks cleaning and dismantling with tightness testing and gas-free verifications

Franchini S.p.A. Ecological Services operates nationwide for the cleaning and dismantling of fuel oil tanks with tightness testing and gas-free verifications. Regular preventive inspections through tightness tests, recognized by the relevant authorities, are necessary to keep tanks efficient and safe. These tests, aimed at monitoring and verifying structural integrity, are essential for maintaining areas used for containing combustion fluids in good condition. Tightness tests for fuel oil tanks are conducted during normal operational activities or following the decommissioning of an underground tank to meet regulatory requirements as per Arpa guidelines and municipal hygiene regulations. All our interventions are carried out by highly specialized operators, using equipment and instrumentation compliant with standards, ensuring the best results in terms of safety and service quality while fully complying with current environmental regulations.

Fuel oil tanks

Tanks for fuel oil are designed for the containment of fluids for combustion. Their maintenance and cleaning are essential to ensure the efficiency and safety of the installations and must be performed by specialized personnel and equipment. Current regulations require precise technical requirements for the construction, installation, and operation of underground tanks to prevent soil and surface and groundwater pollution caused by the release of substances or preparations contained in these tanks. Maintenance interventions in tanks, including cleaning, require careful planning, specific skills, and technical precautions that Franchini S.p.A. Ecological Services can provide through acquired expertise, the use of modern equipment, and highly trained personnel. Franchini S.p.A. also handles the collection, transport, and disposal of any residual waste resulting from tank cleaning. Upon completion of the intervention, a Declaration of Tank Cleaning is issued to the customer, stating that all activities have been carried out in accordance with industry standards and current regulations.

Gas absence verification

The "gas-free" status is the instrumental verification of the actual condition detected within a tank or enclosed confined space to determine risks related to the composition of the internal atmosphere. Using calibrated and certified measuring instruments, Franchini S.p.A. Ecological Services can assess the potential explosiveness of the decontaminated volume, stabilizing the atmosphere to ensure long-term safety despite variations in temperature and pressure. Gas-free verification is mandated by regulations and confirms the absence of risks associated with the presence of flammable or explosive vapors inside the tank.
