Well remediation

Sewer systems don't last forever. Over the years, the erosive action of water and the heavy loads on the surface end up damaging even the most solid structures, especially those that are old.

When the walls of a bedroom crack or the floor becomes uneven due to wear, the problem isn't just structural: the water seal is lost. This means that wastewater and dirty water leak out, dispersing into the surrounding soil. This is a situation that must be resolved promptly to avoid environmental damage and land subsidence.

At Franchini Servizi Ecologici, we intervene to recover the existing structure, re-establishing waterproofing without the need to demolish or replace the entire well.

How we carry out the intervention

Our working method aims to solve the problem at the root, ensuring that the chamber is watertight and functional again.

It all starts with securing the area: we must work in a dry environment, so we isolate the affected area using blocking balloons that block the inflow of water or wastewater. If the chamber is dirty or clogged, we first perform a thorough cleaning with a vacuum truck to prepare the surfaces for treatment.

Once the area is ready, we prepare a quick-setting concrete-based mortar on-site. Our operators apply it manually to the walls and bottom to fill cracks, fill cracks, and create a flat, even base.

Once this first layer has set, we move on to the actual waterproofing using geolite. This specific material is spread over the concrete and creates a essential protective barrier to ensure long-lasting waterproofing. Once the required drying times have been met, we remove the balloons and reopen the sewer system to normal flow.

Equipment and timing

One of the advantages of this technique is its agility. To rehabilitate a manhole, you don't need bulky machinery that blocks yards or streets: we travel with a van specially equipped for rehabilitating.

We have everything we need on board: from professional mixers to technical materials, to manual tools like buckets and trowels. The work schedule is not fixed, as it depends greatly on the size of the chamber and how damaged it is, but the use of quick-setting materials allows us to minimize disruption.

Have you noticed any leaks or sagging?

Don't wait for the damage to get worse. Our team is available to assess the condition of your sewer systems and intervene with structural repairs where necessary.

Repairing pipes without breaking anything: the ultimate guide to relining

Repairing broken pipes without resorting to demolition is possible thanks to relining, a no-dig technology that allows the pipeline to be reconstructed from the inside by inserting a thermosetting resin liner. This method eliminates the need to break walls, floors, or dig up the garden, reducing intervention times by 50% and significantly cutting costs related to restoring building surfaces.
